The property is owned and operated by Ru Macdonald, a passionate voice in the Scottish golf tourism industry and member of Cruden Bay Golf Club.

Growing up playing Cruden Bay with his father and brother, Ru caddied for several summers and worked part-time in the Pro Shop during college. Upon graduation from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen he was awarded Golf Tourism Scotland Young Person of the Year in 2013 for his services across the industry.
